I think the removable battery pack is a critical part of these bikes being successful. Whether it's bringing it inside for charging or security or swapping it should be in place.

Unfortunately I heard the supermoto version will not make it to production any time soon. It is more concept. The enduro version however should be out late spring 2011. Maybe if we yell loud enough... :D

I NEED the streetbike version! That's what an e-bike should look like. It looks like the seat/top cover assembly is hinged on the streetbike, suggesting that the battery pack would be easily removed for hot swapping/chargine in one's apartment. If this is true, that would be a big improvement for people who don't live in houses - city dwellers, for example. One could also possibly pull the battery pack and lug it into your office for recharging on the company dime. I like that! :)

Yeah, KTM hinted that the batteries may be better when they hit the market. I would not count out a better motor either. The motor looks to be hanging from the bottom of the bike protected by a skid plate. Very easy to replace with something else.

I'm such a sucker for KTM products. Love the styling on both. If it's another year before they are available to the public, there could certainly be improvements in power. A year in e-bike technology is like 5 years (or more) in ICE technology.

I would buy one, driven by lust alone.
